- Under the direction of the Manager of Violence Prevention Programs, the Multicultural Victim Services Worker (MVSW) provides direct services to clients, including: criminal justice information and support, safety planning, information and referrals, emotional and practical support. The MVSW ensures that the services provided are sensitive to the social, cultural, linguistic and economic values of clients who are victims of crime. It is important that the MVSW has an understanding of the dynamics of gender-based violence, intersectionality and experiences of oppression and racism faced by immigrants, refugees and people of colour; and vast knowledge of community resources and services.
