Surrey Women's Centre is looking for Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC/CCC) and/or Registered Social Workers (RSW) who can provide counselling services in Punjabi and/or Hindi. Must be eligible for registration as a provider with the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).
Counsellors will be independent contractors. Hours are flexible and based on contractors availability. Contractors will be compensated on a 50/50 fee-split basis (minimum $40.00/session) and are offered access to clinical supervision. Secure, safe office space is available 24/7 in a professional office building in Surrey.

* Serves all genders. Referrals are disproportionately self-identified women and youth.
Key Responsibilities:
• To provide trauma-informed, feminist, anti-oppressive individual counselling for survivors of violence within the South Asian community.
• To conduct trauma-informed risk assessments and triage women in need for urgent access to crisis intervention counselling
• To maintain accurate up-to-date records and case notes, including documentation of all client contacts, referrals to and consultation with community agencies and professionals.
• To consult, network and liaise with community agencies and professionals to maintain up-to-date information on available resources, and to maintain positive community relations and build mutually beneficial partnerships.
Qualifications:
• RCC,CCC or RSW or other related credential
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience
• Degree/diploma (MA, MSW preference) in a related human/social service field or a combination of education, training and experience.
• Demonstrated experience providing crisis intervention, individual and/or group counselling for survivors of violence from a feminist, harm-reduction and trauma-based perspective.
• Meets eligibility for registration with BC's Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).
• Knowledge of appropriate community resources and experience making referrals.
• Demonstrated knowledge and analysis of the impacts of gender-based violence within the South-Asian community.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Excellent computer and administrative skills.
Surrey Women’s Centre is CHANGING THE DEFINITION OF VICTIM. We provide a wide range of Crisis, Court and Counselling services specialising in domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and other forms of gender-based violence. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
