Mackenzie Counselling Services is seeking an experienced and compassionate Counsellor to join our dynamic and professional team. We are committed to providing genuine, collaborative, creative and ethical therapeutic services to individuals, groups, families, adolescents and children. Our agency is in the northern interior region of British Columbia, located 2 hours north of Prince George. Mackenzie is a family friendly community that is popular with outdoor enthusiasts.
This full-time position consists of 2 part-time roles. The Stopping the Violence position involves counselling services which are provided for women who have experienced abuse. The Safe Home position requires you to assist women escaping domestic violence.
Expectations of candidates:
 Minimum baccalaureate degree in social services (Social Work, Psychology, or other related fields)
 Strong ethical boundaries
 Ability to work independently as well as part of a clinical team
 Experience with a range of therapeutic issues, particularly domestic violence
 Trained or willing to be trained in utilizing a trauma informed feminist approach
 Participation in ongoing professional development
 Ability to develop therapeutic relationships
 Ability and willingness to network/collaborate with other care providers in the community
