The Ending Violence Association of BC (EVA BC) is pleased to announce the launch of its Sexual Harassment Advice, Response and Prevention for Workplaces (SHARP Workplaces) online resource hub. With funding provided by the Government of Canada’s Department of Justice, SHARP Workplaces offers free-of-charge, legally accurate, and trauma-informed resources to help workplaces prevent and respond effectively to incidences of workplace sexual harassment.
“SHARP Workplaces fills an important need in British Columbia,” said Ninu Kang, executive director of EVA BC. “As of today, workers and employers throughout the province can access crucial information on rights and responsibilities related to sexual harassment in the workplace as well as best practices in prevention and response.”
The resources launched today are part of a larger collaboration between EVA BC and partner organization the Community Legal Assistance Society (CLAS). As part of this project, CLAS and EVA BC will co-deliver workplace sexual harassment training for small businesses, non-profits, and Indigenous organizations. These free courses are scheduled to be offered beginning later this year. CLAS is also funded to provide up to five hours of free legal advice to workers who have experienced workplace sexual harassment.
