The Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) has received $500,000 that will be going towards sexual assault response service programs over the next three years. The new funding comes from a Grant Program coordinated by EVA BC that supports organizations with the delivery of coordinated, community-based, emergency sexual assault response services in BC.
ONA will build on the work already carried out by the their “You Empowered and Strong” (YES) program. The program supports Syilx Okanagan Nation individuals, families and communities dealing with the impacts of trauma caused by violence including sexual assault and human trafficking.
