Substance Use Support

Substance Use Support Resources

Survivors may use substances to cope with emotional and physical effects of the assault which can lead to substance use challenges (Ullman et al., 2018).

The following substance use support resources are available in BC:

Contact ADIRS toll-free at 1 800 663-1441, or in the lower mainland at 604 660-9382. Assistance is available in many languages 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (HealthLinkBC, n.d.).

National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program

In BC there are several residential treatment centres and an outpatient centre, funded through the National Native Alcohol and Drug Abuse Program (NNADAP) (FNHA, n.d.). Click here for more information.
