Summary of the role:
The PEACE (Prevention, Education, Advocacy, Counselling and Empowerment) program provides psycho-educational support to children and youth who have experienced violence.
Using developmentally appropriate methods (e.g., art, play, story-telling, use of multi-media) the PEACE counsellor empowers children and youth to explore their feelings, provides emotional support, sets boundaries, challenges thinking patterns, and provides opportunities for social interaction with safe adults and peers. The PEACE Counsellor also delivers school presentations on consent and healthy relationships, and provides emotional and parenting support for parents regarding the impact on their children of experienced violence.

Qualifications
Archway Society has an Accredited Facility Dog working in community programs and the canine may be present in meetings attended by the person in this position.
