Our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion training equips participants with an understanding of the complexities and impacts of racism and other forms of discrimination in the workplace. This training focuses on developing skills to navigate diverse cultures, ensuring a more inclusive, equitable and respectful work environment.
About the Program
This course provides a foundational perspective on historical and contemporary racism in Canada, particularly as it relates to systemic discrimination. Through interactive sessions, participants will engage with tools, resources, and practical skills that promote culturally safe approaches.
Key Learning Outcomes:
- Awareness of Racism’s Roots: Understanding anti-Indigenous racism and the historical context of settler colonialism and how these factors impact present day communities.
- Historical and Contemporary Racism: Learn about key historical events and the current systemic racism, including institutional discrimination, privilege, power dynamics and unconscious bias.Â
- Self-Location and Reflection: Engage in personal reflection on power and privilege. Â
- Develop Cultural Competency:Â Build skills to effectively navigate and embrace diverse cultures.Â
This approach emphasizes a comprehensive, balanced response to all parties involved in incidents of gender-based violence.Â
