On behalf of the Ending Violence Association of BC
While we continue to process the tragedy that has struck the Filipino community in Vancouver at Lapu Lapu Day Block Party, a day for joyful celebration of a community’s resilience, we are struck with deep feelings of sadness, grief and shock. We want to extend our most sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims and to the survivors, along with the Filipino community in Vancouver, BC and beyond. The individual and collective trauma is unimaginable and there are no words to describe the level of loss experienced. This is the time for care and compassion and for those grieving to stay connected to love, strength and the community.
