We are looking for a Manager to oversee the administration and operations of our Transition House.
Located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, SOWINS is a non-profit society providing safe refuge and community-based resources for women and children in the South Okanagan. SOWINS operates a transitional and second stage housing facilities, as well as counselling and outreach services. At SOWINS we work from an intersectional feminist philosophy and support trauma-informed practice and harm reduction models.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Transition House Manager is responsible for assisting with the management of the day-to-day, and long-range operations of the Transition House to ensure effective service delivery that is consistent with SOWINS mandate, policies, contractual and budgetary obligations. This role provides supervision, leadership, work direction, and guidance to front-line staff at the Transition House.
The successful candidate will have a degree in a related Human/Social Services field from a recognized post-secondary institution and will have a minimum of three (3) years combined management and front-line experience working in a Transition House setting. The successful candidate should also have a minimum of one (1) year’s management experience working in a Transition House setting.
This is an exempt full-time position and is expected to work a minimum of 35 hours per week.
