EVA BC has prepared a helpful background document, Bill M217: The Interpersonal Violence Disclosure Act: British Columbia’s Clare’s Law, in response to 2019 provincial legislation and questions related to this issue.

We explain why Clare’s Law, the Interpersonal Violence Disclosure Act and similar legislation do not reduce death or enhance safety related to intimate partner violence.
