Anti-Violence Worker Support

Program Support

EVA BC is here to support frontline workers, program managers, administrators and executive directors in these anti-violence programs across BC: Community-Based Victim Services (CBVS), Stopping the Violence Counselling (STVC), Sexual Assault Services (SAS), STV Outreach Services (STV ORS) and Multicultural Outreach Services (MORS).

We encourage members to contact our program support team at programsupport@endingviolence.org with questions about program delivery. Contact our Community Coordination for Survivor Safety (CCSS) program team at ccss@endingviolence.org with questions about community coordination. For questions about membership, contact us at evabc@endingviolence.org.

Some of the things we help programs with include:

  • Training and resources
  • Preventing and addressing vicarious traumatization
  • Records management policy and procedures (including what to do if a file is subpoenaed)
  • Best practices in administering programs
  • Tracking and communicating emerging issues in the anti-violence field

We support frontline workers across BC to better support survivors in their communities, but we are not able to provide direct support to survivors of gender-based violence. If you need direct support, please see our services directory.

Newsletters

direct-program-support-services

Our The Frontline Program Support newsletter provides biweekly updates of crucial information, resources, training and professional development opportunities, and networking and engagement opportunities for anti-violence programs across the province. All member programs and organizations are eligible to receive this newsletter, and can email programsupport@endingviolence.org to get signed up.

We also send out a quarterly organization newsletter, ReachOut, with EVA BC’s latest news and updates focused on our Community Coordination and Workplace Culture Change work. We encourage anyone interested in the work of EVA BC to subscribe.

Program Support Communities of Practice (CoPs)

EVA BC leads eight Communities of Practice (CoPs) for programs, coordination initiatives, and leadership. We invite you to join anti-violence workers from across BC to network, discuss shared concerns, and celebrate successes!

CoPs meet regularly over Zoom and programs can also connect through our program support CoP Slack workspace. EVA BC documents any issues CoP members share, monitors them over time and works to resolve them at the regional or provincial level.

Consultation with government

direct-program-support-services

Throughout the year our government funders seek input on issues from the field. EVA BC conducts and facilitates surveys, focus groups, and needs assessments to assist the provincial government with gathering current, accurate information. In addition, we inform the ministries on emerging issues and sensitivities to assist them in setting directions and making decisions.

Training

EVA BC offers online, in-person, virtual and in-person facilitated training to support anti-violence workers and community partners. If you are a member, visit our Online Training Hub for free online training and contact training@endingviolence.org to receive your member discount code.

Members attend EVA BC’s Annual Training Forum (ATF) every September to network and learn together with service providers and colleagues from across BC.

Find all EVA BC’s training options in our Training Centre.
