About the Role
This permanent position reports to the Manager, Victim Services.  The program provides specialized services to child and youth victims (female and male) of crimes, in particular abuse/assault (sexual and physical), adult survivors of childhood abuse (sexual and physical), and their non-offending family members.

Work Hours: 37.5 hours a week (full-time), Monday to Friday, daytime and occasional evenings required

Salary: GS11 Step 1 – $60,079.50 annual salary
Location: Vancouver, BC (Office and Community based locations)

What you bring:

  • Education, Training, Experience
  • B.S.W. or relevant B.A. plus two years related work experience
  • Experience and familiarity with the justice system and social services
  • Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Provincial Policy on Violence Against Women in Relationships
  • Knowledge of dynamics of violence in intimate relationships, sexual assault, criminal harassment and sexual/physical abuse in childhood
  • Knowledge of Crime Victim Assistance Program
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and support skills
  • Ability to work independently and on a team including in a Child Youth Advocacy Centre Multidisciplinary Team
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with justice system personnel and other victim service and community programs
  • Understanding of paralegal or legal issues
  • Understanding of cross-cultural and equity issues
  • Computer skills
  • Additional Requirements
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check
  • Proof of Covid-19 vaccination status will be required
  • Possess valid BC driver’s license and have access to a vehicle
  • Second language is an asset
