Responding to a sexual assault disclosure – Practice tips for universities and colleges

Share to:

EVA BC’s series of practice tips for responding to disclosures of sexual assault were developed as part of our Western Canada Sexual Assault Initiative funded by Status of Women Canada in 2016. They were tailored to various sectors that include anti-violence workers, Indigenous services, child protection workers, settlement services, police, sheriffs, legal services, physicians, nurses, paramedics, high schools and universities.

The practice tips series include information about sexual assault, why it can be difficult for survivors to disclose and common responses of survivors. Tips for responders include the key practices in offering an empowering response when someone discloses, disclosure and reporting options, and resources for survivors.

Please note: at this time, this is the only updated practice tips.

We will continue to update the tip series and you will be able to find them here in our Resource Centre.
