Stopping the Violence Counselling (STVC) Enhancement Project One-Time Grant Application

The Stopping the Violence Counselling (STVC) Enhancement Project, led by EVA BC with funding from the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General (MPSSG) through Canada’s National Action Plan to End Gender-Based Violence and Safe and Supported: British Columbia’s Gender-Based Violence Action Plan, aims to improve access to counselling for survivors from equity-deserving groups and underserved communities who have experienced gender-based violence.

As part of this project, EVA BChas $300,000 availableto distributeto STVC programstoincreaseaccess to virtual counselling and/or in-person counselling for equity-deserving groups and underserved communities.All STVC programs across BC are eligible to receive aone-timegrant of$3,500. We are grateful to MPSSG for this support. 

This grant can be used to: 

  • Build capacityof STVcounsellors to support equity-deserving groups and/orunderserved communities 
  • Improve technologyto enhancevirtualSTVCservices 
  • Increase accesstoSTVCservices for equity-deserving groups and/orunderserved communities 
  • Fundother activitiesthat increase access to virtual counselling and/or counselling for equity-deserving groups and/or underserved communities
