Be More Than a Bystander – a transformational leadership development opportunity

Drawing on decades of research and frontline expertise, EVA BC’s internationally recognized Be More Than a Bystander program delivers a ground-breaking, culture-shifting approach to creating safe, respectful workplaces and communities.

Workplaces and Community Education & Training

Be More Than a Bystander originated as a partnership between the Ending Violence Association of BC and the BC Lions Football Club. It has since been expanded further as an intensive training program to develop leaders and influencers as Be More Than a Bystander champions.

The Be More Than a Bystander program shares its incredibly successful engagement model through several educational and training options suitable for a wide variety of groups.

For Workplaces

Focused on providing practical tools to empower people to “stand up instead of stand by”, this program addresses the complex and challenging subject of workplace harassment and bullying.

EVA BC’s Be More Than a Bystander program works as a stand-alone training offering as well as leadership, diversity and inclusion programs within larger organizations.

Fees for training program vary. Please contact for more information.

The program:
  • Recognizes that the vast majority of people in the workplace want to do the right thing and value a fair, respectful environment.
  • Provides the practical tools and information to recognize the range of behaviours that contribute to a negative culture where sexual harassment and abuse can occur.
  • Equips leaders and employees at all levels with concrete skills to appropriately address these issues and create the respectful culture everyone wants.
